Re: SQL 2005 SP1 Maintenance Plan "Include first level subfolders" checkbox doesn't appear

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello,

Took a look, the database is indeed SP1, looks like the management tools on
this particular cluster node aren't the SP1 versions though.

No idea how that happened, but yeah, we're looking at patching that.

Daniel,

Build 1399 is Gold not SP1. Build 2047 is SP1. You don't appear to be on
SQL2005 SP1.

Hello,

No, I'm not in the wizard, I am in the design view. Seems to behave the
same way if I try and edit an existing plan with a maintenance clean task
or create a new one.

Thanks for the reply, any other ideas?

Are you in the wizard? If so, you won't find the cleanup task there. You
need to *design* the plan, add a cleanup task, and here you'll find this
option.

Hello,

I'm running a SQL 2005 Standard Edition (x86) clustered with SP1
applied on Window Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, SP1.

We have some maintenance plans to backup databases and transaction logs
to disk (each database goes to a subfolder). Part of that maintenance
plan includes removing older backup files. According to this:

http://blogs.msdn.com/sanchan/archive/2006/04/23/581640.aspx

2005 SP1 added an option to "Include first-level subfolders" in
maintenance plans, but I don't see that option in our maintenance plan
screens. I did verify the server is running SQL 2005 SP1, is it
possible that maybe the management studio version on the server didn't
get upgraded properly? Here's the version numbers:

Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 9.00.1399.00
Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools 2005.090.1399.00
Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2000.086.1830.00
(srv03_sp1_rtm.050324-1447)
Microsoft MSXML 2.6 3.0 4.0 6.0
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.3790.1830
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.50727.42
Operating System 5.2.3790

Thanks!
