SQL report tools

Hi,

We are going to purchase an e-commerce software utilizing MS SQL but the
application (and others we have reviewed) does not have many reports that we
wish to have.

My question is, are there any good free or really expensive tools that we
can use to generated reports from SQL database?

Also, is that possible we create our own packing slip directly from SQL?

Many thanks in advance.
