Somehow I had a feeling this was going to be the answer. If you run a script and get an error message, you can certainly double-click on the error and the cursor will jump to the (ostensibly) offending line. But that gray margin on the left side of the query pane sure seems like it ought to be there to show line numbers. Anyway, thanks for the reply.
