Perhaps Agent started a job which blocks some query that your web app is running?

box (2048 RAM, plenty of hard drive space). I am running about 50 databases on the box. I have one database
that gets far more traffic than the others.
> What happens every-once-in-awhile is that SQL Server will stop responding. I start to get database
timeout requests, etc. and the Web sites connected to the databases no longer function. It seems to only
happen when I have SQL Server agent running in the background (which is a problem because I would really like
the agent to be running). I have tried to find errors in the log files but see nothing unusual or that would
seem to be the cause of the problem. SQL Server still indicates that it is running fine (in the Task
Manager), query analyzer will return results, etc. but no Web traffic goes through. Rebooting only seems to
work if I can stop the SQL Server Agent before I start to get any Web traffic coming across.
