hello Marc,
thanks for your reply. Looked at Visual Studios way of doing things and it can be nice although it doesn't actually stop me from breaking any existing code and the editor isn't as good as Query Analyzer. The tools from both MS SQL XPress and SQL Source Control 2003 aren't quite there either, they just appear to be front ends to SourceSafe with editors that are still not as good as Query Analyzer.
This DB Ghost thing may just be what I'm looking for. It links into SourceSafe so you can extract the source from labels or build a database using the latest code and it can deploy the net code changes including my static data. Job done.
PS: I don't know what you mean by having a deployment master, around here SourceSafe is the master. This is where all our VB & .NET code is managed from, Labeled and therefore we have an Audit trail. It looks like I can now do it for my SQL code as well. I just hope DB Ghost is as good as they say it is.
