Is there any way to downgrade the Enterprise server to Standard?
You'll need to uninstall your Enterprise Edition and install a Standard Edition from scratch.

This could be, but I can’t understand why the notification service could have
been started in the first place if there were two different versions of SQL
server.
Is there any way to downgrade the Enterprise server to Standard?
Thanks for your help.

Is this an active\active two node cluster? If so, Are you sure that
instances of SQL Server services are both Standard Editions or Enterprise
Editions?
My guess is that you have two active SQL Server instances (and notification
services) and one of them is Standard Edition and the other one is
Enterprise Edition.
