SQL Server 2005 setup

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello,

While attempting to setting up a new user account on a laptop on which SQL Server 2005 Developer edition is installed I receve an error in SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration. I started surface area configuration with 'run as administrator' and appropriately logged in with an administrative account. When attempting to start the Analysis Services service I receive the following message:

"The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion, you need administrator priviledges to be able to start/stop this service. (SQLSAC)"

Why do I get this error and how do I remedy it?

Additionally:
A few minures earlier I made the user login a member of the SQL Server SysAdmin role on this machine. I also made the user login a member of the Analysis Services Administrators role on this machine. When I attempt to open SQL Server 2005 Surface Area Configuration with the user login that does not work.

Please help me know what I am missing.

Thanks,
Douglas
