RE: sqlx2008 basic configuration task

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi JRL,

Thank you for using Microsoft MSDN Managed Newsgroup. My name is Mark Han.
I am glad to work with you on this issue.

From your description, I understand that after installing a SQL Express
2008 instance, you createed a web application to connect to the database
aspnetdb which is running under the SQL Server. however the application
failed to connect to the SQL. If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

in order to make the issue clear, we need to narrow down the issue first.
1 please do a udl test.
Create a new txt file on your desktop.
Change the file name as test.udl.
Double click the file.
In the Provider tab. Select the provider for SQL Server or SQL Native
Client
In the Connection table, input the instance name you want to connect.
Please make sure you use Windows NT Integrated security option
after the above done, click the Test Connection Button to test the
connection.

2 please describe the scenario in detail. For example: how many servers are
involved in the issue? how many domain involved in the issue?

I look forward to your update.

Best regards,
Mark Han
