Happy New Year to All
I have two SQL Servers running
1. SQL 2000 Developers Editon 8.00.2050 on my Windows XP Pro workstation
2. SQL 2000 Server Standard Edition 8.00.2050 on my
Windows 2003 R2 Standard DC server
I have Outlook 2002 SP3 Client installed on both computers.
I have a valid email profile on both.
The services for sql server and sql agent use the same logon account as to
the machine being logged onto. This is the same on both also.
The SQL server properties have the mail profile defined in both
The SQL Agent on both have been configured with the Mail profile.
The Support Services SQL Mail has been configured with a valid mail
profile on both.
Tested the Support Services SQL Mail configuration on both and they both
are successfull.
The TEST on the SQL Agent properties for SQL Mail profile works on both.
Created a operator on both but the same email address in both and tested
both and they both worked.
Now you ask what is my issue. Well it seems I have email working on both
server this is true.
On Server 1 My workstation I have maintainance plans setup and the jobs
run every day and after each run I get a email telling me the job was
successful. It will also send me a email if the job fails. I have setup
the alerts to do that.
So server 1 is working to my liking.
On Server 2 My Server I have maintainance plans also setup which created
jobs. The jobs are running successfully but I am not getting any emails
that the jobs completed successfully.
That is my problem, I have gone over the settings on both servers and I
can not see any thing that is missing.
The Alerts Only allow one type so I do not know how to use alerts in a
different way.
Does any one know what I am missing?
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks
Tom
