Express 2008 install fails - "Unknown property"

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Installing Express 2008 with Tools on XPPro SP3, I get:

SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error:

Unknown property.
..
======================

That error message doesn't give much in the way of suggestions for a fix.


I found these lines in the log file:

Slp: Running Action: Install_Msxml6_Cpu32_Action
Slp: Error: Action "Install_Msxml6_Cpu32_Action" threw an exception during
execution.
Slp: Microsoft.SqlServer.Setup.Chainer.Workflow.ActionExecutionException:
Unknown property.


Can anyone make sense of this?
