Don't take me wrong but I'm pretty sure that this tool works quite well
with SQL Server 2000 instances.
I, myself witnessed this I don't know how many times... Just give it a
try...

Download "SQL Server Management Studio Express" for free and install it
on your SQL Server server. By default, BUILTIN\Administrators is added
as a "sysadmin" Login to your MSDE instance so if you log in to that
server as a local administrator and connect to that SQL Server instance
using Windows Authentication, you'll probably succeed.
If you don't remember the "sa" s password, there's no way to find it
out. You can only change it by logging into your server using the above
method.

I have a windows 2003 R2 DC standard server and I installed Microsofts
Sharepoint 2.0 which install Microoft SQL desktop engine for the
sharepoint databases.
The version of SQL Desktop engine is 8.00.2050 which is SQL 2000.
I would like to install the Enterprise Manager so I can setup backups
etc.
I have a Windows XP Pro SP3 workstation that I run SQL Developers
Edition that version is also 8.00.2050
The enterprise manager is running on my workstation so I thought I
could connect to my servers SQL Desktop engine but I am having a
problem connecting. I am not sure what the SA password is on the server
I forgot to write it down during the install.
So I am trying to install the Enterprise Manager on my server but the
option to do an upgrade is greyed out.
Any one have any ideas or suggestions on how I can install the
Enterprise manager for SQL DESKTOP ENGINE on my server.
OR any way to figure out the SA password
Thanks for your help
Tom
