Re: SQL Server 2008 set up

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Probably you did not install your SQL Server 2008 Instance under this ("Test") Windows User Account and probably you did not add this user to the "SQL Server System Administrators" list during SQL Server 2008 Setup. So, you can't connect to your SQL Server 2008 instance using this user's Windows account.

To accomplish this, connect to your SQL Server instance under a Windows account which was added to the SQL Server System Administrators list by you during installation. Then create a Login for this Windows user ("Test") or for a Windows Group which includes this Windows user account.

Note:
The list I'm talking about is in the SQL Server 2008 Setup's: Database Engine Configuration pane's Account Provisioning tab.

Hi Ekrem,
Yes, I misunderstood the original problem. Please re-activate your connect
bug

and state that the documentation is wrong in this area. That way the bug
will get assigned to the writer.
