Thanks for response. I went ahead and installed SQL 2008 Dveloper edition.
The install completed successfully. When i open Management Studio, I get this
message Login failed for user Alex-PC\TEst;(SQL Server error:18456)
Any ideas

I think you did not follow this thread from the first message. The problem
with the System Requirements is that, on the Operating System Requirements
list of SQL Server 2008 Enterprise Edition (at least the x86's, because my
test was on this architecture), Client Operating Systems (XP, Vista) are
not listed. However, Enterprise Edition of SQL Server 2008 can be
installed on Client OSs.

If you take a look at my first port under this thread, you'll see that an
MS guy from Connect confirms this.

I just verified that the updated (August 2008) Books Online topics are now

Yes, it looks like the MSDN topics haven't been updated yet, but that
should be happening soon (the next day or so I believe). The folks that
can confirm this are not in the office today, but I'll repost when I
can get some more concrete information from them.
