Setup of SQL Server 2005 - problems

I installed SQL Server 2005 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 application
server this morning - no prior SQL server, just an MSDE. I did a full
install to the default instance, using mixed mode authentication, then
applied SP2. I rebooted after the initial install and then again after SP2
completed.
I am getting the following errors in the Application Log - I'm too new to
know what to do once I looked at the links provided and then entering the
info into eventid.net - so I thought I'd ask here for advice/help.
1st error:
