Re: Moving tempdb

there are two databases on the server that are being used. Once is about
11GB and the other is about 25GB.

I also have another server running a database about 16GB in size.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

thx.

There's no magic formula, since your code may change how, and how much
tempdb is used. I would go at least 10gb for any LUN, regardless of purpose
unless you know for a fact that there is an upper bound.

How much data do you have in your user databases?

Hello,

I'm planning on moving our tempdb to it's own LUN but I'm not sure what
size
the LUN needs to be. Currently the tempdb is just over 1GB in size. I
was
planning on creating a LUN with a size of 5GB. Is this too small? Or
should
I increase the size?
How exactly would you determine what size your tempdb might grow to?

thx.
