SQL 2005 Alerts / Notifications

Greetings!
We recently implemented Database Mirroring (2 SQL servers, 1Witness server,
single farm) for a MOSS 2007 implementation. We've confirmed that the
automatic failover is working (quite nicely I might add) and now would like
to ensure that our Senior IT staff are notified of mirror state changes. I
was reading a document provided by Microsoft in regards to setting up alerts
but was wondering if there is anyone who has a decent "real world" setup for
this.
Ideally, we want to have an email notification sent to specific individuals
when any of the following scenarios occur:
1) Principal and/or Mirror server loses connection to the Witness server
2) Principal and/or Mirror server regains connection to the Witness server
3) Automatic Failover occurs on one more more databases
There's a fewoptions to consider (Alerts only, or using jobs as well?) and I
wasn't sure what would be the best but if anyone has any examples or other
suggestions for alerts, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Armando
