MSSQL 2005 Remote Connections

Hi,
I have an XP pro machine, that I have MSSQL 2005 installed.
I have a fixed ip for my internet connection, which comes in to an
router, where the ports 1040 1433 1434 are forwarded from the router
to the mssql server machine (192.168.1.4). As I am having numerous
problems with this, I have enabled DMZ and pointed it to 192.168.1.4.
And I have disabled all the firewalls on the machine and on router
just in order to get this (bleeding thing) working.
How ever I am unable to connect to the MSSQL 2005 database from
outside of the LAN. With in the lan of course it is connecting fine. I
have changed all the settings on the services to allow remote
connections to the server.
Can anyone else think of anything that I am missing here?
I ran some other services on the machine and forwarded those port to
the same server and they work fine from outside of the network. This
tells me that this is something to do with the MSSQL 2005 settings.
Any, help will be most appreciated.
Cheers
CJ
