Thanks, Adams.

After submitting a second request, I got the right one downloaded and it is
about 178MB large, my original one is only 8 MB large.

thanks,

Dear Jeff,

Thank you for posting here.

The extracted file of the "Cumulative update package 6 for SQL Server 2005
Service Pack 2" should be "SQLServer2005-KB946608-x86-ENU.exe" and size of
it is "137MB". You can manually verify this package again according to
above information. I suspect that we might have got the wrong package.

If it is true that the wrong package is delivered, you can contact
Microsoft Customer Service and Support (CSS) directly to obtain the hotfix
in a timely manner. For a complete list of CSS phone numbers and
information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

Have a nice day!

| Hi all,
|
| I am just wondering whether any of you have requested a SP2 cumulative
| update package 6 by doing so from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946608.
|
| I made a request by click http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=6294451 inside
| "How to obtain Cumulative Update 6 for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2"
| section in the kb article, and I received a response from MS within a
few
| hours, but the link in the MS response email only points me to an
| installation file only for MS native client instead of the expected CU6
that
| updates sql server engine.
|
| Anyone has the same experience?
|
| TIA,
|
| jeff
