Re: SQLEXPR32.exe command line parameters.

Greg,

Sorry, but I stepped outside of my comfort zone with these responses.
According to this article below,
"For SQL Server Express, the Local System Account is Network Service
Account."
http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/1/0/f10c4f60-630e-4153-bd53-c3010e4c513b/ReadmeSQLEXP2005.htm

Therefore, this should be "NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService"

Hope that it works,
RLF

Still no luck - I get an error saying it "cant access the service
account - specify a domain user and password or use a built in system
account"

Here is the command line I am using - note I am doing it with mixed
mode (dont know if that is relevant):

sqlexpr32.exe -q /norebootchk /q reboot=ReallySuppress addlocal=all
SQLAUTOSTART=1 SQLACCOUNT="BuiltIn\System" INSTANCENAME="MYINST"
SAPWD="mypwd" SECURITYMODE=SQL DISABLENETWORKPROTOCOLS=0

I've also tried using SQLACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\System" with no luck.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

I always install interactively, so I don't experience this. However, I
would expect it to be:
SQLACCOUNT="BuiltIn\System"

Try it and see if it works.

I've tried using the BuiltIn\System account but I got an error from
the Windows XP machine that to make sure the account exists - here is
the format I used : SQLACCOUNT=BuiltIn\System - does the user need to
be in quotes or brackets? Or is it something that needs configured on
the XP machine?

Thanks,
Greg

Greg,

Mike Wachal (MSFT) is saying to set the SQLACCOUNT parameter to
Builtin\System.http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2230163&SiteID=1

The overall documentation is in the following link. It is generic to
all
SQL Server 2005 installations, so you need to only use options
supported
by
Express. (I assume that you already have seen this, but just in
case.)http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms144259.aspx

What is the correct command line parameters to SQLEXPR32.exe that
will
default the Log On As: properties for the instance to use the
Built-in
account of Local System & Local Service?

I need it to be set to Local System immediately on install without
having to go into the configuration manager. When I run the
SQLEXPR32.exe right now I get the Network Service defaulted.

Thanks for any help,
Greg
