How do I uninstall SQL Server 2005 from Vista when uninstall and manual attempts fail

How do I uninstall SQL Server 2005 (x64) Developer Ed (SP2) from Vista Enterprise ed (x64) when the following attempts fail
1.) Uninstall using Add/Remove programs failed
2.) Manual uninstall attempts using instruction from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967 failed
3.) MSIZAP failed.

==============================================
1.) Detail on add/remove programs - I selected a SQL Server 2005 item and clicked uninstall. I expected a dialog to open where I could select uninistall all. Since that did not happen I proceeded to uninstall each item one at a time. I was able to uninstall most of SQL Server 2005 (x64) but "Uninstall or change a program" Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (64-bit) still was shown. When I attempt to uninstall I am given the following message:

"An error occurred while trying to uninstall Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (64-bit). It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (x64-bit) from the Programs and Features? Yes/No"

In Services I could still see "SQL Server Reporting Services" (MSSQLSERVER) and I could stop and start it.

I reinstalled the whole thing and tried again without success so I abandoned the standard uninstall and moved to the manual uninstall.

2.) Detail on manual uninstall attepts - I reinstalled everyting incl (SP2) and followed these instructions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909967 item by item to the letter.
When I tried to run the "ARPWrapper.exe" with the command: "ARPWrapper.exe /Remove" The uninstall form opened and showed the following:

[x] Remove SQL Server 2005 instance components
Select an instance
(.)"MSSQLSERVER: Database Engine, Reporting Services"

I select the default instance and clicked "Next>" and see the following:

The following components will be uninstalled from your machine. To proceed, click finish
.. Database Engine: MSSQLSERVER
.. Reporting Services: MSSQLSERVER

I click Finish and nothing happens! Absolutely Nothing!

So I move down to the section titled: "If you experience problems"

This section required registry editing.
I navigated to the section instructed and click on the GUIDS and look for the following display names;
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Notification Services
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Integration Services
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Tools
.. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Books Online

There were these items remaining ~ shown with the essential information

1.)

GUID: {BEE3EC3D-0C91-4A3E-A42C-7634D32968F4}

GUID: none
Uninstall string: none

4.)

Attempts to uninstall 1 and 2 above result in errors like:

4:5 5:e:\sql9__sp2_t\sql\setup\darwin\sqlcastub\catarget.cpp

3.) Detail of attempt using MSIZAP for Vista - I reinstalled SQL Server 2005 (x64) SP2 to get a fresh start. Then I ran MSIINV.exe and redirecting the output to a text file. I edited the resuts to show only the information I was interested in. Here are the results.

I stopped short here because similar attepts at using MSIZAP failed on a Windows Server 2003 server.

On that machine I was trying to uninstall Microsoft##SSEE after a failed uninstall of WSS 2007. The uninstall did not remove SSEE or display it in Add/Remove so that I could choose to remove it. Various attempts to remove using various instructions resulted in similar failures. After using MSIZAP on this server machine I believed I was successful becasue all reverences in the registry were removed. Yet - I was unable to take ownership over the files and unable to remove them from the server. And strangely still Windows Server 2005 on that same machine still saw SSEE.

I had to reinstall the O/S on the Windows Server 2003 machine.
