Re: installing help for sql 2005

Hi Atul,
It sounds like the the restore operation has created orphaned users. That
is, you have database users that are not mapped correctly to logins. See if
this Books Online topic fixes the problem for you.

Hi gail,

Thanks for your great help. Now i installed the sql server2005 on one of
my
server and its running fine but i am now getting an other problem which is
I've restored my database from a different server and all the users in
security are set up but when I try to assign the user to that database I
get
an error that "its already assigned". When I check the properties for
that
user and check the User Mapping, my database is unchecked. and when i am
tried to check the dbowner the its keep giving me this error msg

"Create Failed for User 'MyUser'. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)" "User or role
'MyUser' already exists in the current database

lock.

In the future, please provide ALL relevant information in your initial
post.
This will reduce the amount of time spent trying to solve your problems
and
responders will not have to guess at what you are trying to accomplish.

In SQL Server 2005, remote connections are disabled by default. Use the
Surface Area Configuration tool to enable remote connections. If you
continue to get errors after enabling remote connections, please provide
the
exact error message(s) you're getting.
