Re: New Server Hardware - Move everything from one Server to another?

I was hoping for a way to move the DBs without having to do everything piecemeal. Move the DBs, move the Users, fix the user, move the jobs, fix the jobs. I know its possible, its just a headach everytime we do it...
the onw KB has 5 differnet steps with multiple steps for each step. Since they are both standalone SQL 2005 Servers, no replication, no other attachments, I though there might be a more simple way to jsut move over the data and the settings.
Something like the Files and Settings transfer Wizard (-;
Thanks,

Hi, Scott,
Thanks for your response.
Moving everything from one computer to another is not an easy thing.
Sometimes it is not possible without any manual configuration. For example,
if there is a replication under your original server, after you move all
the databases, users, logins, jobs, and DTS packages etc, you need to
manually re-create the configurations on your new server.
To make your issue more clear and specific, could you please let us know
what the problems that you have but the KB article does not include?
Best regards,
Charles Wang
