Overlapped I/O operation error

Hello All,

I am installing SQL 2000 on a server that had SQL Express once installed
(but is now gone). Installation goes great until reaching the licensing
question. Answering this gives me the following error message "Overlapped
I/O operation in progress." I have seen several other posts in this group
with the exact same problem. I have tried many of the ideas without success.
