Re: 2 instances of 2005, how do delete one?

When I look at where the programs are running under the services control
panel, I've got 2 of everything (Reporting, Full text indexing, agent, etc).
Looking at the details, there doesn't seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason as
to the directory structure.
They're all under Program Files\Microsof Sql Server\... but then there are
a bunch of subdirs from MSSQL.1 - MSSQL.6, etc on a service by service basis.
When I go to Add REmove Software, there aren't 2 instances of Sql Server
just one. Will the uninstaller let me choose an instance?
I don't want to uninstall *everything*; one of those instances I want to keep.
Thanks

Obviously you DO want to uninstall the software..
You don't want to delete the service and the folder!!!!!!
However, you need to identify which is the correct service that you are
using before uninstalling it!

Hi...
Somehow on a box here, we got 2 instances of 2005 running - one named
<host>
and the other named <host>\<host>. We're trying to clean up, but i can't
find a wizard for doing that.
Obviously I don't want to uninstall the software. Do I want to edit the
registry to delete the extra services for the 2nd instance manually? Then
go
delete the data directory?
Thanks
Mark
