it looks to me like you are trying to attach the adventureworks database which is made for sql2005 with sql2000, which probably is not compatible.
if you are running the sql2005 manager, and you got the sql2000 productversion, then you need to register server again and look for the sql2005 instance. then attach your adventureworks database.

I uninstalled the AdventureWorks from the the control panel then I downloaded a new copy of the AdventureWorksDB.msi and I also tried AdventureWorksDBCI.msi (Don't know what the difference is) and when the install finished, SQL doesn't see the database, I still get the error message. I tried using Enterprise Manager for SQL 2000. I don't know what the problem is..
Thanks,

I still get the error

they act as a set.

with that said, simply go to the databases node in the tree, right click and use the ATTACH option, then sepecify the folder where you have the adventureworks. if you want to move it, then move it before attaching.

I think I have SQL 2005 Express and SQL 2005 on my PC. There are two directories: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data
and C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Data
The AdventureWorks has been placed in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\Data directory, but when I bring up SQL Server Management Studio, I don't see AdventureWorks. The databases I have associated with this are all under the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data directory.
How can I import the table into SQL server and why did the MSI install put it in the wrong place.
Thanks for any guidence and help on this "day before Thanksgiving"
