And of course, if you use the Desktop Edition (MSDE -which allows for 'free'
distribution, albeit db size limitations) you can have as many as 16
instances on one server.

Can multiple instances be installed on SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition?

wasn't sure if there was a difference between Enterprise edition and
Standard
Edition.
