RE: SQL 2000 on Windows 2003 Install Problem = Ripping my hair out

Holger,

I am installing it on a stand-alone server using an account in the local
administrators group. I have attempted configuring the startup account as
both the same local admin account as well as local system.

Thanks for your interest and help.

Sincerely,
Hunter

Hi,

What kind of account are you using to start the installation of SQL server
and which account have you defined as startup account?

I am attempting to install SQL 2000 on a Windows Server 2003 SP1 server that
I have just built. The server had nothing on it yet, not even the security
updates. Seemingly, no matter what options I choose, I am unable to install
SQL 2000 - it errors out at the end of the install with a vague error that
refers me to the log. I have cut the salient piece of the log for your review:
