Hello again Gail,
It is Thursday 6:20 P.M. Eastern Time as I am located in Pennsylvania. I've
been anxiously awaiting any reply from you about my problem. I am sure you
are very busy so I understand. I have been searching all day for answers and
trying to work this out myself. I do have all the necessary components
installed. I tried to install some components and the setup told me they were
already installed. I tried running the scripts using osql and got the error
for connecting; something to do with default settings don't allow remote
connections. Also when I tried to change SQL Server Express I got a warning
in the pre-requisites about ASP.NET. ASP.NET 64 Bit is registered but it said
something about required 32 Bit registration. I'm not sure what that is all
about. I guess I'll look for a response tomorrow or tonight if you get back
w/in the next half hour. Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,
John Chilson

More information is needed please.
What does "I can't open them" mean? Were you successful in extracting the
files? That is, can you see the install scripts and .mdf and .ldf files for
the databases in C:\SQL Server 2000 Sample Databases (or where ever you
downloaded the files too?)?
Did you try to follow the instructions in the readme to either run the
install scripts or attached the databases and get an error? If so, what is
the error?
It would also be helpful to know what version of SQL Server you're using.
SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2005 Express, etc.
