Did you set up the profile in two places? SQL Mail and SQL
Agent mail are two different pieces and you have to set up
both. Agent is setup from the properties of SQL Server Agent
- on the general tab. SQL Mail is set up from Support
Services - SQL Mail.

Hello
Im trying to set up a mail operator to be mailed whenever something fails.
I am able to set the mail profile and it tests sucessfully. However, when i
set up an operator and click the test button, after clicking 'ok' to the
first message i get the following error:
"error 22022: sqlserveragent error: the sqlserveragent mail session is not
running; chcek the mail profile and/or the sqlserveragent service startup
account in the sqlserveragent properties dialog".
Both mssqlserver and sqlserveragent startup under my domain account, and the
profile works (tested) and I have used outlook to send emails.
I am at a loss as to why i continue to get this error message.
any suggestions?
thanks for any help!
Ben
