The services logged in using local credentials (Servername\accountname).
When you changed the server name, the account information was no longer
valid. I find it helpful to use domain-level accounts for the SQL servicess
to avoid this type of situation. Put the domain account in the local
administrators group and everything should work just fine.

BTW, you will need to change the name within the SQL Server. BOL has an
