Thanks for the help,
I can ping the server without any problem using both the server name
and server ip, there seems to be no problem anywhere else on the
network just setting up the system DSN. As far as I can tell the
machine that is not connecting is setup exactly the same as a machine
that is apart from the driver version. You have suggested using named
pipes I've search on the internet but all I can seem to find is info
about named pipes on UNIX\Linux. When trying to create a connection
using named pipes it automanically generate the following pipe name:
\\[server_name]\pipe\sql\query
Is this correct as it doesnt connect or am I expected to enter values
for pipe, sql and query?
