I agree with John that there is probably something else going on. In
general though it would probably be better to upgrade the RAID 1 that the
logs are on vs. the Data when it comes to writes. This is mainly due to the
fact the logs get written to almost immediately and the data can happen
later. So you want the log writes to be as fast as possible. But maybe you
have page splits or too many indexes etc. You need to trace the server with
perfmon and trace to see where the bottleneck lies.
