RE: Error Message When Setup MS SQL Server Developer Edition

Hi Tarik Ibrahim,

I ran in to this problem once (a long time ago).
I my case it was caused by a problem with MDAC.
Try downloading (http://www.microsoft.com/data/) and installing the latest
version of MDAC prior to installing SQL Server.

Ps, as you no doubt know running Windows XP without any service pack is not
a very bright idea. My Experience is that the SQL Server developer edition
should work fine even on Windows XP without any SP’s but please, save
yourself a lot of trouble and patch it.

Kind regards,
