Client Tools Setup on Windows XP

I have previously been able to install the client tools (Enterprise manager,
etc) on my Windows XP Pro machines. This machine now will not let me. I
insert the disk, it shows the main choices, I select install database
components, and then select install server. Normally, it would tell me that
I could not install the server (I am running Standard Edition), and then
proceded allowing me to install the tools. Now, however, it just freezes.
Not windows open, nothing. When I try again, it says an install is already
running....so I check...and sure enough there are two processes still
running. I have waited...seeing if it will eventually start, but after 24
hours I give up. I have tried shutting down all the program running
(antivirus, etc), still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions? What on earth
am I missing this time???
Thanks for the help!
