I have tried to install SQL server 2000 on my windows xp (home) Pc and I cant
run the program. I tried to install it on another Pc with windows 98 and I
get the same problem. I suspect that I need to run windows xp pro edition to
enable me to work on a standalone Pc. Is this the case or can I make changes
to my home edition software, or do i need a dedicated server to allow me to
use this program?

I am very new to this and I am self taught..so i would be grateful for any
advice regarding setting up and using Sql server..

Thanks

Steve
