Hi

The "." indicates the local machine, therefore .\Edward is your account on
that machine. You will need to enter the password corresponding to the
account you set. With localsystem you don't enter the password and the
interact with desktop is not needed. I am supprised this did not work, you
may want to check the event logs and SQLServer error log to see if there is
any other information. Other than that I can only think of removing it and
re-installing from scratch.
