I finally figured out a way to accomplish the upgrade... it's amazing
what taking a break can do... and how stupid I can get without it!
I had SQLserver 6.5 generate scripts to create all the objects, etc that
I needed to xfer. Then after some script tweaking, got the objects made
on SQL2000.
Data xfer was accomplished via MS Access. Created "linked tables" to all
data tables on each SQLserver; then manually copied the records from
6.5's tables to 2000's. It's a simple 'select all', copy, paste.
That's it.
This was practical only because I have a limited number of tables, and
the datasets aren't huge. Not sure what Access's limitations might be
with a bigger database.
Now my question is, why the heck couldn't the darn Wizard figure out
somethins as simp;e to do as that? There obviously is no connectivity
obstacle.
I hope this helps someone down the line!
