I've had a week of gotcha's and catch-22's here...
Trying to get my SQL 6.5 data moved to a new SQL2000 install.
I've tried it with both on the same server, and on separate machines
(source SQL6.5 on NT4, target SQL2000 on XP pro)
Finding the upgrade wizard was the first step - it wasn't installed - then
getting it to run at all. Finally was able to get things straightened out
to at least begin the process...
but the farthest I've been able to get is partway into the upgrade wizard,
after the 'logon' screen, when I get the error message window:
"Warning! Object directory could not be created"
followed by:
"the import server must be running sql server 2000"
followed by:
"the import server MUST be switched to sql server 2000"
But my import server IS sql server 2000!
can anyone help? or is there any other way to get my data moved over?
Thanks much!
