RE: need 6.5 sp5 to install sql 2000?

This issue seems strange, I am afraid I need more information for further
troubleshooting.
1. Had SQL Server 6.5 been installed on this box? Had it been upgraded to
Service Pack 5?
2. Had you trying to upgrade SQL 6.5 to SQL 2000?
3. If tested on another box, is it possible for your to reproduce the issue?
4. Can you trace system error logs or SQL logs for me?
5. Would you please give a detailed description about what had been
installed on your box and what are you doing before it required SP5 step by
step? Detailed information will help us make closer to the resolution.
