- Have you tried running the setupsql.exe directly from the command prompt?
- Make sure all non-essential services and processes are turned off.
Typically, it's ok to have the following (we know for a fact that these
dont interfere in SQL setup), others we dont recommend
Services -
Alerter
ClipBook Server
Computer Browser
Directory Replicator
Event Log Messenger
Net Logon
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
NT LM Security Support Provider
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service
Schedule
Server
Spooler
UPS
Workstation
Processes
csrss.exe, Explorer.exe, llssrv.exe, loadwc.exe, lsass.exe, nddeagnt.exe,
pstores.exe, RpcSs.exe, services.exe, smss.exe, spools.exe, System, System
Idle Process, taskmgr.exe, winlogon.exe
Hope that helps!
