Sir,
Please refer to your sqlstp.log for exact error message. As a best
practice, we recommend taht we turn off all 3rd party and non-essential
services (inc. anti Virus software) during an install or an upgrade of SQL
Server.
Some processes that we know dont interfere with installation are:
Services -
Alerter
ClipBook Server
Computer Browser
Directory Replicator
Event Log Messenger
Net Logon
Network DDE
Network DDE DSDM
NT LM Security Support Provider
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Locator
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service
Schedule
Server
Spooler
UPS
Workstation
Processes
csrss.exe, Explorer.exe, llssrv.exe, loadwc.exe, lsass.exe, nddeagnt.exe,
pstores.exe, RpcSs.exe, services.exe, smss.exe, spools.exe, System, System
Idle Process, taskmgr.exe, winlogon.exe
