Dear SQL gurus:
I know i may be asking a question that is taboo, but what the
heck. I am building a new SQL2k dev box, but would like to install AV
on it, as it wont be isolated with only 1433 open to it from the
client-base. Now, i did a ton or research on Symantec, Trend-Micro
and MS's sites and i couldn't find anything definitive regarding this.
Does anyone have any best practices? Also, i dont understand why
loading AV would be such an issue (outside of the performance hit) if
you ensured that you didn't do real-time on SQL-specific files /
folders? Thanks for any and all responses to my inquiry. Hope i
livened up someone's day.
