How to get images out of the database.

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Dear reader,

In our database (and our customers database) we have images in the database.
The type of the datafield is 'image', in our example database we have Gif
and JPeg images, but other formats are allowed.

The vision in our company has changed and now the images are to be stored
outside the database. How can I get the images as a file in a directory.
Preferently using SQL in a Query window. (Query Analyser for 2000, or a
window for 2005).
The method is only used to convert the images to outside the database, but
shall be used several times, for testing and then for a few databases.

How do I go about this ?
Webpages which describe this process ?

Thanks for you time and attention,
Ben Brugman
