SQL I/O Errors

Hi there
We have a major problem with our Test SQL Server, we are receiving constant
I/O errors when attempting to perform backups.
SQL Data resides on the E Drive which is SAN Fibre attached, the logs also
reside on this drive. I have attempted to put all Data and Logs onto local
drives and we also recieve the same I/O Errors!
The exact error is as follows:
BackupIoRequest::WaitForIoCompletion: read failure on backup device
'E:\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Data\Helpdesk.mdf'. Operating system error 1117(error not
found).
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Event ID 18210.
The server is running Windows 2003 64bit SP2 with all the latest updates
installed, the hardware is a HP Proliant Blade BL460c, with all the most
recent firmware/drivers installed.
At first we thought it was an Operating System fault and completely rebuilt
the system, however the problems still occur. We have multiple SQL Servers
running on the same HW without any problems.
Can you guys help here?
Thanks
.
