Re: MSCS Questions

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

I've run sp_who2, although the results were pretty much what I expected. At
this point only one user is connecting to the database, as it is still being
initially configured and loaded with data. There are no blocking issues at
this point. I'm getting roughly the same performance on this high-speed
server system that I get locally on my lap-top computer when I run the same
application against the local SQL Server. I find that a little hard to
accept.

I have, however, documented my experience with several bugs in SQL Server
itself which might be affecting the overall performance of my SQL Server. I
am contacting Microsoft on Tuesday to get the hotfixes for several issues
listed in the SP 4 Beta docs.

In the meantime, I thank you for answering my initial question. I now know
that there are no MSCS configuration options that affect server performance.

Thanks,
Michael C., MCDBA
