You are already using Open Source what? Linux? Apache? You didn't say.
The pros of using MSSQL are here: http://www.microsoft.com/sql, you
won't find many cons mentioned there. :-)
One of the drawbacks of using MS SQL Server is that it is tied to
Windows. It doesn't run on any other OS, and it won't in the future
either. I personally don't see this as a drawback as Windows Server 2003
is a pretty solid platform.
I can think of MANY drawbacks for using an open source database
engine... ;-)
