What is I also want to use SQLMAIL. I have a regular domain user account with
local administrator rights on the SQL box but now when I try to connect with
the SQL Server Enterprise Manager or query analyser via NT Authentication if
fails with Login failed for user '(null)'.
SQL authentication works great but NT authentication fails every time.
If I switch to a domain admin account or a local system account NT
authentication works fine but I don't want to use a domain admin account or a
local system account because I want to use SQLMAIL!!!
I tried using the setspn.exe utility to fix the problem but that didn't help
unless I have to restart the MSSQLService after using this utility but the
instructions don't say you need to do this and this is now a production SQL
Server that can't be stopped and started willie nillie.
