Hi, I am experiencing this error while installing Reporting Services on a Win
2003 Server.

SQL Server 2000 has already SP3a installed and it's working successfully.

The server is an Application Server and not a domain controller.

I am executing the setup with thsi command:

Z:\ENGLISH\SQL2000\REPORTING_SERVICES\STANDARD\setup.exe /i
"Z:\ENGLISH\SQL200\REPORTING_SERVICES\STANDARD\SETUP\RSRUN.MSI"

I need to use this command since while the regional settings are Italian I
NEED to install the Reporting Services in English.

So, after executing this command, the setup starts and tells me that VS 2003
is not installed. No problems, I do not want to install designer here.

Continuing, I am asked to give all the details about Service (using
Administrator NT Account) and SQL Server connection (I use SQL Security
model, through "sa" user).

Then the actual setup starts and begins installing files.

After some seconds I am getting this error:

SQL Server setup

Error 1603

I tried to follow MS KB Article 867872:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=867872

But when passing the "RSDONOTCREATEVIRTUALDIRECTORIES" option is tells me
that the option IS NOT SUPPORTED.

So I don't know how to proceed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks and regards,
