Hi Vikram,
 If you are asking about how frequently the performance counters would
be collected, it would depend on the nature of that parameter, for
example a parameter like CPU usage would be measured more frequently as
compared to disk usage. The statistics for past 'n' days would be stored
in a database so you would be able to see how an object/ parameter has
been performing over the period of past n days something like usage
trend for a parameter.

Btw, thanks a lot for the pointing out need for a report on backup
history. Please feel free to suggest any such reports that you think
might be useful to the DBAs/normal users.
