Hi,
Can you install the SQL Server client tools remotely (in any PC) and connect
the SQL Server databases
using both Enterprise manager as well as Query ANalyzer and check the Query
response.
I had an instance before when ever I query from server it was slow but from
remote it was fast. That problem
was solved after recreating the windows os profile. You can also verify this
by login in using a diffrent user in
OS.
One more thing is uncheck (disable) the AUTOCLOSE option for all databases
if enabled. You can do this using the Enterprise manager and select
properties -- option for each database or use sp_dboption stored procedure
